I've created this page to be a central hub of exploratory research I am doing towards the Personal Collection project.
There are a lot of applications for geographical / spacial data in this project. I would like to have my phone be pinging cell towers at intervals so that I can collect data about where I am at any given time and look back on this data on a map. However, in order to display this data and also to analyze the intersection of this data with other relevant data, say calendar data, you need to have an open source mapping platform. Open Street Map, may very well be that platform. But I would also like to learn more about GIS programming. It seems very powerful and there is a lot of public data that can be leveraged.
